James Milner doesn't regret leaving Manchester City for Liverpool

James Milner insists he has no regrets about leaving Manchester City for Liverpool and believes it was the right decision after the Anfield side's strong start to the season.
The 29-year-old joined the Reds after spending five years with City and has since been named as Brendan Rodgers' vice-captain.
He wore the armband for the first time on Monday as he deputised for regular skipper Jordan Henderson in his side's 0-0 draw with Arsenal.
Milner was named man of the match as Liverpool followed up their single-goal wins over Stoke and Bournemouth with a third consecutive Premier League clean sheet and another point.
The result leaves them lying third, two points behind City, and Milner is relishing his new challenge on Merseyside.
Asked if he had reconsidered his switch from City since he moved to Anfield in June, Milner told The Liverpool Echo: "Not really.
"I have watched them on the TV – I might have been watching them sitting on the bench if I had stayed at the club.
"That is the decision I have made. I am delighted to have joined Liverpool and am enjoying every minute.
"It is a club used to winning and every time we step on to the field the fans expect to win – that is a nice pressure to have. I am enjoying it very much. That is why I came here.
"You want to be among good, experienced players and a blend of English talent and foreign players. Everything is there.
"You look down the squad list and on the bench and it is a strong balance. You need a good squad to do anything and we will definitely have that."
Liverpool were a disappointing sixth last season after finishing as runners-up to Man City in 2013/14 and are looking for a better return this time.
Milner believes the feelings he and his team-mates experienced after their stalemate at the Emirates is a reflection of their outlook as they seek a return to the Champions League.
He added: "Any time you can come away from Arsenal and be disappointed with a draw is a good night. There are very promising signs. It will take time.
"I don't think that is anywhere near the best we can play but again it is an improvement. Defensively we were brilliant again and you could see the fluidity in our play at times as well.
"We will get better and better the more we play together but to go away and play like that was pleasing. I think it is an exciting time to be at the club.
"There have obviously been a lot of changes on and off the field in the summer and I think it will take time to get to our best but to start the season like we have is pleasing.
"We don't want to put any targets on it, but the longer we get into this season and the more we play together, you will see us improve more and more."
