The latest Arsenal news and transfer rumours on Tuesday, January 29, including a reported payoff for Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal's decision to bring Wenger's reign to a premature end cost the club £17.1m in pay-offs to him and his staff, report The Times.
Wenger's reign ended after 22 years in the job last season when he had a year left on his contract. Accounts seen by the newspaper reveal Wenger was paid in full for that final year, costing the club £17.1m.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have offered Ivan Perisic £250,000 a week to join the Gunners on an initial loan with a view to a permanent move in the summer, according to The Sun.
Sky in Italy says Arsenal proposed an initial loan for Perisic, with an option to buy for £34.5m, but Inter appear to prefer a permanent move for the Croatia international.
According to Milan-based newspaper Libero, Perisic has agreed personal terms with Arsenal despite the two clubs not agreeing on a loan or transfer deal.
Additionally, Arsenal are eyeing a move for Napoli right-back Kevin Malcuit as a replacement for Hector Bellerin, also according to The Sun.
Stephan Lichtsteiner and Carl Jenkinson are not long-term prospects in terms of replacing Bellerin, leaving the Gunners short of options. Therefore, Unai Emery has reportedly turned to the Serie A star.
Arsenal could send Mesut Ozil to Paris Saint-Germain in a swap deal for Adrien Rabiot, according to the Daily Star.
