Ibrahimovic reveals Wenger snub

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC has revealed that he was once offered a trial by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger but rejected the offer as insulting.

The Swedish striker is still bitter about the offer and has vowed to make The Gunners pay when they travel to Amsterdam on Wednesday in the return fixture of the Champions League.

The Ajax ace was offered the chance to link-up with the North London giants two years ago when he received glowing reports from scouts watching him perform for Swedish side Malmo.

Ibrahimovic says he was insulted by the offer of a trial and the 21-year-old and told the News of the World: "I didn't have a trial - I came for talks with Arsenal.

"But Wenger wanted me to do a trial and I said: 'I don't do trials. You know who I am."

The Swedish international moved to the mighty Ajax for £5.5 million soon after the altercation with the Frenchman and concluded:

"You can expect a lot from me in Amsterdam.  I'd like to show them what they missed."
