Striker declares himself fit for Group E leaders

Eduardo da Silva has handed Croatia a boost by declaring himself fit for this weekend's clash with Israel. The Arsenal striker had been doubtful for the Euro 2008 qualifier after he missed Arsenal's win over Sunderland with a groin problem. Da Silva has come through training without any ill effects and he says he is ready to face Israel on Saturday. "I will be ready for Saturday's match," said da Silva. Turning his attentions to Arsenal, da Silva admitted he is enjoying life at Emirates Stadium, despite not earning a regular place in Arsene Wenger's starting XI.

Feeling better

"I haven't lost form, but I do need matches, and I'm really looking forward to this one," added da Silva. "I'm feeling better and better every day at Arsenal. "I have moved to a new flat, I have an English teacher and I speak the language better now."
