Arsenal boss to make a decision on Congo international
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he has been impressed by Tresor Mputu after his trial at the club.
The 20-year-old striker has built a strong reputation in Africa, where he was top scorer in the continent's Champions League equivalent for TP Mazembe.
Mputu, who has been on a ten-day trial with the North London club, has also made his debut for his country DR Congo.
He was part of the Congolese African Cup of Nations side last year, who progressed to the quarter finals, eventually being beaten by eventual winners Egypt.
A decision has yet to be reached on whether Mputu will be offered a permanent switch to the Gunners but Wenger has made known his interest.
He told the club's official website: "He is on trial and I have to go down to test him today.
"He is a creative player and wants a chance in Europe. He has impressed so far."
