Gunners starlet to see out the season at Upton Park

Following the departure of Scott Parker to Tottenham, West Ham have landed Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury on a season-long loan. The Hammers have moved quickly to strengthen in the middle of the park after seeing an influential figure head for the exits. Shortly after it emerged that Parker had handed in a transfer request at Upton Park, on Tuesday evening, West Ham announced that Papa Bouba Diop had signed on. Now, the club have added Gunners starlet Lansbury to their Championship promotion push.

Productive

The 20-year-old has taken in spells with Scunthorpe and Watford in the recent past, while he helped Norwich into the Premier League during a productive loan spell last season. He returned to the Emirates over the summer and has been involved in Arsene Wenger's first-team plans, figuring in Arsenal's 8-2 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday. The Gunners are, however, unable to offer him a regular role at present and he has again opted to take in a short-term spell elsewhere. The England U21 international becomes Sam Allardyce's 10th signing since taking the reins at Upton Park over the summer.
