Barcelona star returns to capital after summer move

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas says he is learning a lot at his new club but has not forgotten his footballing education at Arsenal. Fabregas returns to the capital with the world and European champions Spain for a friendly against England at Wembley on Saturday, following his summer move to the Camp Nou. Fabregas, 24, says his eight-year spell with the Gunners provided him with an excellent footballing education which he has now taken to Barcelona. "At Arsenal, I often supported Robin van Persie, now I'm doing the same with Lionel Messi and David Villa," he said in the Daily Mirror. "I learned so much at Arsenal and it is good to be able to use that experience in Spain.

Strengths

"Matches like Sunday's 2-2 draw in Bilbao, where the surface was very wet, need the sort of strengths of the English game. "Our ambitions are pretty clear at Barcelona. What we want is to go far in all competitions we enter. To do that we have to deliver the goods in difficult conditions, too. "They closed their defensive lines well and it was difficult to create chances. However, we did manage to control the game." He added: "I learned so much at Arsenal, grew up there and have so much respect for them. "They have got great players, a great manager and I still enjoy English football."
