Petr Cech will have his Arsenal medical on Friday ahead of his move from Chelsea, according to Sky sources.

Arsenal have agreed a £10.9m fee for the Czech Republic international goalkeeper and it is understood he has already agreed personal terms in principle with the Gunners.

Sky Sports understands the player's medical was originally scheduled for next week but has been brought forward to Friday.

The 33-year-old, who has one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, has been keen to leave the club having spent most of last season as second choice to Belgium keeper Thibaut Courtois.

Cech recently held discussions with Chelsea officials in which he urged them to break policy and allow him to join a top-four rival, and he subsequently thanked owner Roman Abramovich for sanctioning the move.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson thinks the Gunners’ move for Cech is an "amazing possibility"

"He has been there since 2004 and he is a Chelsea legend because of the authority he has and the presence he gives.

"Arsenal are now in a very strong position. They have paid off the (Emirates) stadium and have a very good squad with a really good group of British players in there."
