Theo Walcott has urged Arsenal to put their Champions League nightmare behind them by returning to form against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Gunners had striker Olivier Giroud sent off on 40 minutes after an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain own goal had put Dinamo Zagreb ahead on Wednesday evening.

The Croatian side capitalised on their one-man advantage, doubling the lead through Junior Fernandes and extending their unbeaten run in all competitions to 42.

Chelsea, on the other hand, came out 4-0 winners in an impressive performance against Maccabi Tel Aviv which can only boost their confidence.

Arsene Wenger made six changes to his side and left Walcott on the bench, although the England international gave an energetic performance as a second-half substitute and scored late on for the Gunners, perhaps the only shining light in an otherwise disappointing display.

The result has not dented Walcott's confidence, though, and he says that having another big game coming so quickly can only be a positive.

"We need to move on now," he said. "We have got a big, important game at the weekend, but everyone will be very disappointed.

"However, we can't blow one result and say 'it's the end of the season' - we have still got a long Champions League run [ahead].

"We have had setbacks before and have managed to bounce back from them.

"The manager will make sure that it's put to bed in the changing room and that it will stay there. We need to reflect on this game and move on quickly."

"Tomorrow is a new day, a time to be positive and take good things into the next game because we can beat Chelsea."

Captain Mikel Arteta, who was out for a long spell last season with injury but was recalled to the starting line-up against Dinamo, said Arsenal cannot blame squad rotation for failing to beat a team who had not won in the Champions League since 1999.

"We had a strong team out there to win the game and we created enough chances to at least not lose, even with 10 men," the Spaniard said.

"We have to react quickly. We're quite good at that. Tomorrow is a new day, a time to be positive and take good things into the next game because we can beat Chelsea."
