Everton winger Yannick Bolasie will undergo surgery after suffering a serious knee ligament injury against Manchester United on Sunday.

The 27-year-old was injured in the second half of the 1-1 draw at Goodison Park after a clash with United's Anthony Martial and was replaced by Enner Valencia.

Scans on Monday confirmed anterior cruciate ligament damage to the right knee.

Bolasie will have his operation in the next few days.

Everton tweeted on Monday evening: "Yannick Bolasie to undergo knee surgery after scans confirmed a serious ligament injury against Man Utd. Come back stronger, Yannick"
