On-loan forward Henry Onyekuru has confirmed talks are ongoing about a possible return to Everton in January.

The Nigeria international was signed by Everton in the summer but was immediately loaned to Anderlecht, where he is starting to make a very positive impression.

The 20-year-old made it six goals in nine games when he scored a double during an entertaining 4-3 win over Mechelen on Friday night.

And, with Everton struggling for goals in the Premier League, it has been suggested they may ask the FA's "exceptions panel" if they can bring Onyekuru back to the club earlier than planned.

The forward posted a picture on Instagram last week, tagging himself in Liverpool city centre.

And, when asked about the visit by Belgian newspaper La Libre he said: "Yes, that's right and I'm waiting for something. That's all I can say.

"I hope to be able to play there in January.
