UEFA has fined Everton for the behaviour of supporters during their 2-1 Europa League defeat at Goodison Park last month.

The fine is believed to relate to an incident in which Lyon's goalkeeper Anthony Lopes was struck by an Everton fan.

UEFA said it was charging Everton with "aggressions by supporters against players", and was fining the club €30,000 (£26,650).

The incident occurred when Ashley Williams barged into Lopes in front of the Everton fans in the Howard Kendall Gwladys Street End.

A brawl involving players and staff from both sides quickly ensued, during which an Everton fan appeared to strike Lopes.

Everton said that they had identified the fan, and would ban him from attending Everton matches in future.
