Moyes denies Etuhu swoop

EVERTON manager David Moyes has denied claims that he has turned to his old club Preston North End to lure midfielder Dickson Etuhu to Goodison Park.

The Scot, who left the managerial post at Deepdale to take over The Toffees two seasons ago, revealed that the 21-year-old's price tag would likely be too expensive for the Merseyside club.

Moyes looked on as his Everton side lost 1-0 at Preston in a pre-season friendly on Saturday and made clear he has no intention of enquiring about the Nigerian's availability with The Lilywhites.

"There's no truth in that rumour. He's too expensive for us," revealed Moyes.

"If I was going to make a move Craig (Brown) and Derek (Shaw) would be the first people to know."
