David Nugent admits joining Everton would be a 'dream move', if Preston North End fail to win promotion.

The England Under 21 international is desperate to play in the Premiership, but has set his sights on fulfilling that objective with his current club.

Preston are slugging it out for promotion and Nugent will be a key figure in the club's quest for a long-awaited return to the top flight.

But the exciting striker concedes that, should The Lilywhites miss out, then he would welcome a switch to Goodison Park.

"Hopefully I'll be in the Premiership with Preston this summer," Nugent told the News of the World.

"If not, someone else as every young player wants to be there.

"Everton would be the dream. I've always wanted to play for them.

"It'd be unbelievable and, hopefully, it'll happen one day. That's where I want to be.

"I was released by Liverpool when I was 14, but that was the best thing that happened to me.

"I've progressed because I wanted to prove I'm good enough for the Premiership."
