Toffees chairman is well aware of the need for investment
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright is confident he can keep David Moyes at Goodison but admits the club must match the manager's ambition.
The Scot has been linked with a move away from Merseyside and positions at Chelsea and possibly Tottenham could offer a fresh challenge for the Toffees boss.
Moyes is one of the most established Premier League managers but, entering his 10th year at Everton, is yet to win a trophy and he has publicly outlined his ambitions to win silverware.
Desire
Kenwright knows the only way to match the desire of his manager is to find buyers for the club that can inject the much-needed money Everton need to compete in the top six of the Premier League.
The Everton chairman was defiant when asked if he feared losing Moyes to a wealthier rival.
"Not at all. Never. Why? What do I think is the biggest club in the world? Everton," Kenwright said.
"He is ambitious. I am hugely ambitious but I have got to be realistic and that is why I have to ask myself whether I can be the chairman for much longer.
"It is a huge club and I have to find the investment to take it forward."
Finance
Everton have taken some big Premier League scalps at home this season with wins against Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham, but Kenwright knows finance is key long-term.
"I know this club is revered throughout football for the way we try to do it but it is a huge job and it gets more and more difficult," he added.
"But, at the end of the day, I have to find a new owner."
