Former boxing world champion, and Bolton supporter, Amir Khan joined in the celebrations with Phil Parkinson's Trotters squad as thousands of supporters gathered at the Town Hall on Tuesday.
The Wanderers returned to the second tier with a 3-0 victory over Peterborough at the Macron Stadium on Sunday, just one season after they were relegated to League One for the first time in 23 years.
Promotion was secured on a dramatic final day of the regular 2016/17 season, as goals from Jem Karacan, David Wheater and Adam Le Fondre got the promotion party started for Parkinson's side, who closed their campaign on 86 points.
The squad gathered at the Town Hall to celebrate their promotion with the fans, parading a trophy to great delight, with the mayor even jumping in with a speech!
