Bolton 2-1 Rotherham
Friday 26 December 2025 18:07, UK
Josh Sheehan scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner to earn Bolton a thrilling 2-1 League One victory over struggling Rotherham.
The Wales international had not scored this season but fired promotion-chasing Wanderers into a first-half lead.
But Sheehan's controversial strike was cancelled out in the 90th minute by Sam Nombe's penalty after the substitute had been fouled by Cyrus Christie.

Bolton looked like they would have to settle for a share of the spoils. But Sheehan popped up in the third minute of injury time to give Steven Schumacher's side victory.
Rotherham protested in vain that Wanderers' opening goal in first-half stoppage time should have been disallowed for offside.
However, but for Cameron Dawson they could easily have already been behind as he saved from Amario Cozier-Duberry, Joel Randall and Thierry Gale while Hamish Douglas cleared off the line from Randall.
Rotherham started and finished strongly with Joe Powell and Ar'Jany Martha going close early on. Bolton keeper Teddy Sharman-Lowe saved from Reece James in the second half before Nombe's unlikely equaliser.
But the Millers could not grind out a draw and Sheehan's strike moved the Trotters up to fourth.
