Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle is confident Gary Cahill's protracted move to Chelsea will be finalised by Tuesday morning at the latest.
Cahill is out of contract at the end of the season and Bolton accepted an offer from Chelsea for the defender late last month.
However, Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas revealed that his club were initially 'miles apart' regarding personal terms and that prompted speculation that other teams could hijack the bid.
Coyle has been insistent that there has been no further interest in Cahill after the England international was also linked with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
The centre-half is now understood to have accepted a deal with Chelsea and he underwent a medical at the weekend prior to watching Saturday's 1-0 win over Sunderland.
Though the move has yet to be officially completed, Coyle feels an announcement is imminent, saying: "My understanding is that everything is agreed.
"The clubs agreed (a fee) a number of weeks ago, the player, his representative and Chelsea have agreed, and I think he sailed through the medical as we all would expect.
"For me, between today and tomorrow morning, it is just a matter of the contracts being exchanged between the relevant parties to conclude the deal.
"As far as I am concerned, Gary is joining Chelsea."
