Midfielder was reportedly laughing and joking with team-mates

Sky Sports sources understand Fabrice Muamba has been laughing and joking with the Bolton players who have visited him in hospital as he continues his recovery. The midfielder remains in the intensive care unit at the London Chest Hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest at Tottenham at the weekend. The 23-year-old collapsed on the pitch during his side's FA Cup quarter-final match at White Hart Lane and was left fighting for his life. Muamba has been in intensive care at the hospital since Saturday but reports on Monday afternoon revealed he was showing small signs of improvement. After a "comfortable night" on Monday, the midfielder received visits from some of his team-mates on Tuesday, including captain Kevin Davies, who accompanied him in the ambulance from White Hart Lane to the hospital at the weekend. Muamba's condition remains serious but it was understood he was able to share jokes with his colleagues. Manager Owen Coyle had confirmed earlier on Tuesday he has had a brief conversation with the player but stressed his recovery is still in its very early stages.
