Reading chairman Sir John Madejski has revealed the club have initially agreed a deal with investors. The Royals have reached an agreement with Thames Sports Investment which could lead to money being invested in the Championship club. "I am pleased to announce that I have entered into an initial agreement with Thames Sports Investment that may lead to an investment in Reading Football Club," Madejski said in a statement. "For the avoidance of doubt, I would like to emphasise that I will continue as chairman of the club, and the club will continue to operate in the same prudent and business-like manner that it always has. "No further announcements can be made until a binding agreement has been reached." There have also been suggestions that the Royals could be the subject of a takeover bid from Russian billionaire Anton Zingarevich, but the club have refused to comment on the rumours.
