Saints boss hoping to bolster ranks ahead of European campaign

Steve Lomas is looking to bring fresh faces into St Johnstone and has taken the opportunity to cast an eye over Brett Williams and Patrick Cregg. With the club readying themselves for a Europa League campaign in 2012/13, Lomas is determined to bolster his ranks as quickly as possible. Trials have been awarded to Reading striker Williams and former Hibernian midfielder Cregg and both are expected to figure in a friendly clash with East Fife on Wednesday. "Brett has done okay considering Reading are just back for pre-season and he'll stay for the week so we can have a good look," said Lomas. "He might get a run against East Fife and it's the same with Patrick."

Bonus

St Johnstone will see their campaign get underway on 19th July with a continental clash against Turkish outfit Eskisehirspor and Lomas hopes to have made a number of additions before then. "I'm hopeful of getting four or five new faces in for the start of the season," he said. "I know my chairman, Steve Brown, is working hard to deliver on that side of things for the fans. "It would be great if he could pull something off before we go to Turkey. That would be a bonus."
