MILLS EYED BY HIBS

HIBERNIAN boss Alex McLeish has made a personal check on Portsmouth's reserve team clash with Southend United, with Lee Mills believed to be his chief target.

The transfer-listed attacker played 70 minutes of his side's 3-1 win, and failed to get on the scoresheet, but McLeish may decide to follow up his interest in the former Bradford City hit-man.

Hibs have been looking to strengthen their squad, and the manager seems to be determined to take matters forward in a bid to introduce new blood at Easter Road.

Meanwhile, Pompey have offered new contracts to Neil Barrett and Lewis Buxton.

Both teenagers have been impressive in the first team this term, and Graham Rix is keen to reward their efforts.

Another youngster, Tom White, has headed out on loan after agreeing to a temporary link-up with nearby Havant.
