Jol unhappy with Mido

Martin Jol has criticised Mido for comments he made about Sol Campbell.

Martin Jol has criticised Tottenham striker Mido for comments he made about former Spurs defender Sol Campbell.

Mido had called Campbell 'one of the easiest defenders I have played against', but the Egyptian's comments have drawn an angry response.

Campbell's current manager Harry Redknapp felt the comments were 'arrogant' ahead of Portsmouth's visit to White Hart Lane on Sunday.

And Spurs boss Jol was also unhappy with Mido's words and has discussed the matter with his front man.

Jol is hoping the matter can now be put to bed, but admits the African's comments about Campbell were ill-advised.

"I have spoken to Mido and he is well aware that this is not the kind of comment you make about a fellow player," said Jol.

"Given the feelings that still run high about Sol among our supporters, Mido's comments were not only disrespectful, they were also irresponsible.

"I have told him to let his football do the talking in the future."
