Cotterill takes closer look at former Charlton stopper

Portsmouth have confirmed they have taken former Charlton defender Sam Sodje on trial. The 31-year-old is seeking a new club after spending just a month at Skoda Xanthi before leaving by mutual consent. Pompey boss Steve Cotterill has now handed Sodje a chance to impress as he casts a closer eye over his qualities during training. "We have just brought Sam in to do a bit of training with us and see where he is," Cotterill said in The News. "He's just somebody out there at the moment on a free."
