Shot-stopper set for month-long Fratton Park stay

Goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan has signed with Portsmouth on a one-month deal. The 32-year-old, a former Crystal Palace and Southend player, has been training with Pompey for the past month. The shot-stopper will battle first-choice keeper Jamie Ashdown for the gloves during his stay at Fratton Park. Flahavan, who spent time on loan at League One club Oldham last season, goes straight into the squad for Saturday's Championship clash against Cardiff. He is the brother of former Pompey keeper Aaron Flahavan, who was tragically killed in a car crash in August 2001.
