Darren Anderton says the flair and quality of Christian Eriksen will be the key for Spurs in the north London derby on Sunday.

Eriksen has scored three goals this season - including both in a 2-2 draw with Swansea last month - but it is his creativity for Harry Kane that Anderton, who made more than 300 appearances for Spurs, believes will be crucial if Tottenham are to maintain their fine run at the Emirates on Super Sunday.

He told Sky Sports News HQ: "Eriksen is a top player, he's the one who got that little bit of magic. He has not been playing his best in the last couple of games, but he has got real ability and knows how to spot a pass.

"When he gets the opportunities he is as cool as a cucumber and has got real quality on set plays."

"He has got to get involved in the game in the final third and supply the balls for Harry Kane, especially the way it went for Arsenal in the week, confidence has got to be lacking a little bit."

Kane has emerged from a difficult start to the season in fine form, scoring five goals in his last three games.

"Kane is in a rich vain of form. He has answered his critics with five goals in the last three games," added Anderton,

"He is a very good player, he is still young and learning but he has come into his own."

Anderton admits Spurs will need to be as tight at the back as they have been through the first three months of the season, with the Belgian centre-back pairing of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen charged with stopping Arsenal's plethora of attacking talent.

"Alderwiereld has been outstanding, I think he is one of the signings of the season," added Anderton.

"The pair have built a great relationship. Spurs used to be soft at the back, but these two this season have been outstanding."
