Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino does not expect the club to be busy in the January transfer window.
Pochettino is happy with his squad after a successful summer recruitment drive that has improved the team dramatically this season and made them genuine competitors for a place in the top four.
Sky Sports News HQ understands the club are looking into signing a striker and possibly another centre-half, especially if Federico Fazio leaves in the next window.
Midfielder Andros Townsend is another who could seek a move in January, but Pochettino says there is no pressure to add more players and insists they will only buy "one or two" if they can improve the squad.
He said: "There will not be too much in January, or maybe we don't sign any players.
"It's not a pressure for me to sign players. We share the responsibility within the club, with the chairman and the head of recruitment.
"If we have the possibility to improve it, be sure, if we can, we will sign the player. We work very hard for that.
"But now is the moment that there is a lot of rumour and people should know we are very happy with the squad we have."
Tottenham are pouring time, money and attention into developing their academy players, and the club's head of player development John McDermott won the FA's Outstanding Contribution to Youth Development award earlier this month.
Youngsters Josh Onomah and Harry Winks are on the cusp of the first team, while Alex Pritchard is working towards a return from injury in the New Year, and Pochettino is focused on graduating more academy prospects.
He said: "Always we are open to improving our squad but if we have all the squad fit then we have a very good balance in between the positions.
"Maybe the likes of Josh and Harry have the opportunity to play in the next few games, or this season .They show everyday they are ready to play and they have enough quality.
"We have a lot of talent behind them in the academy but they always need time to develop and arrive at maturity in their head to play in the Premier League, and for a team like Tottenham."
