Mauricio Pochettino gives his reaction to Leicester's late goal to beat Spurs

Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino says Wednesday night's 1-0 home defeat to Leicester was "difficult to take" as he believed his side dominated the game.

Robert Huth's 83rd-minute goal shocked Spurs at White Hart Lane and gave the Foxes a narrow win that sent them level on points with Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Pochettino believes his young side edged an exhilarating game but highlighted what can happen when you do not finish off your chances.

"I am very disappointed," he said. "It was an unfair result, but it is football and we need need to accept it and try to improve for the next game.

"We gave our all. It was a great effort from the players but when you dominate and you do not score, and give the chance to the opponent, you lose the game.

"It is difficult to accept and difficult to explain to our supporters. We played very well in the first 15 minutes and created lots of chances - all the stats are positive. But we missed something and gave them the chance to score."

Spurs host struggling Sunderland at White Hart Lane on Saturday and Pochettino insisted his side must recover their mental strength ahead of the game.

"We need to be positive and try to improve," he said. "We are young and we need to work more and improve more.

"We have opponents later that are strong, play deeper, and play long-ball. They play in a different way.

"But we need to give Leicester full credit because the way they fight and believe is unbelievable."
