Berg Hestad aware of Spurs interest

Heerenveen's Daniel Berg Hestad is aware that Tottenham Hotspur ran the rule over him on Sunday, however he is concentrating on his football with the Dutch outfit.

Spurs' director of football David Pleat took advantage of the club's free weekend to watch Feyenoord draw 2-2 with Heerenveen at De Kuip.

Pleat went primarily to scout Feyenoord's highly-rated Robin van Persie, but also took the time to check out Berg Hestad and team-mate Mika Vayrynen.

With van Persie coming on as a second half substitute Pleat was able to keep an eye on the Heerenveen duo, however the former Molde ace is not getting carried away with talk of a dream Premiership move.

"I don't want to focus on this," explained Berg Hestad to TV2 Nettavisen on Pleat watching the club's Eredivisie clash on Sunday.

"He came to see another player, then he saw me and Vayrynen, but I guess he's got 40 names on that list already.

"Tottenham are a big club, but that is a long way away. However, of course I dream about playing in the Premiership League, but I'm thinking about that now."

Meanwhile, both Milan and Internazionale have been linked with summer moves for Vayrynen, rivalling Spurs for his signature.

Dutch giants Ajax and PSV Eindhoven are also monitoring his progress, however his agent has confirmed Inter have a keen interest in the player.

"Italians have watched him for over a year now. They will keep scouting for the rest of the season," said Vayrynen's agent Ari Masalin.

"Inter's scouts have watched all Finland's national team games."
