Keane allows winger to go back to Tottenham

Ipswich Town have allowed Andros Townsend to return to Tottenham Hotspur midway through his loan spell at Portman Road. The winger joined Ipswich on a season-long loan in August and he had made 16 appearances in all competitions for Roy Keane's side. However, after being left out of last Saturday's 3-0 victory over Leicester City, the 19-year-old's time with Ipswich has been cut short. Keane told the club's official website: "Andros has not had the minutes on the pitch that he needs lately so he has gone back to Tottenham." Townsend's only goal for Ipswich came in the recent 3-1 home defeat by Swansea City, while he was also sent off against Crystal Palace on only his second appearance for the club. He has yet to make a first-team appearance for Spurs and has previously enjoyed loan spells at Yeovil Town, Leyton Orient and MK Dons.
