Jermaine Jenas had revealed that he is determined to turn his loan move to Aston Villa into a permanent deal.
The midfielder is in line to make his Villa debut against Everton on Saturday afternoon following his switch from Tottenham during the summer transfer window.
Jenas, 28, was keen for a fresh move away from White Hart Lane following a lack of first-team opportunities under manager Harry Redknapp.
His loan does not include any 'to buy' option giving Villa first refusal on the midfielder who has two years left on his Spurs contract.
But the player, who has impressed Villa boss Alex McLeish in the short time he has been at the club, hopes to take his form into the clash at Goodison Park.

"First and foremost, I've got to try and work as hard as I can this year and perform the way I can," said Jenas.
"If, at the end of the year Villa want me I'm sure there will be some talks. Definitely. Having been at the club for ten days it is a fantastic place to come and ply your trade.
"We'll probably have another chat at the end of the year and go from there.
"This is potentially the biggest move of my career to reignite what I know is within me as a player.
"This is a fantastic place to come and play football and almost showcase it.
"If I can get that confidence behind me, hopefully I can put in some top performances for Villa and help them achieve what they want to.
"It didn't go as well as Spurs because of confidence issues, lack of form. What I'm looking forward to is getting back to what I can achieve at a big club like Villa.
"I expect it of myself so I can understand why other people expect it."
Decision
And despite Jenas falling out of favour with Harry Redknapp during his time at the club, he is adamant he has no hard feelings towards the manager.
"I don't feel that way about Harry," he added. "I don't dislike him. We got on fine. He was doing his job. I was trying to get my head down, be professional, in the team.
"I wasn't about to cause disruption. It was his decision and his decision was final."
