Spurs boss does not expect new faces at White Hart Lane

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp claims he will not be dipping into the transfer market in January unless a 'very special' player becomes available. The White Hart Lane boss has guided his side to third in the Premier League table heading into 2012 with Spurs regarded as serious contenders for the title. Redknapp will not have the distraction of continental football in the second half of the season after Spurs exited the Europa League at the group stage. And the veteran tactician claims that he is more than happy with the players currently at his disposal with the winter window now open for business.

Very special

He told the Sunday Mirror: "It's extremely unlikely we will be doing any business in this window. "Unless someone very special came on the market, someone that could improve the team, I'll stick with what I have. "We have a very strong squad and cover for virtually every position. It's hard to see where we can improve." Redknapp is not a fan of the January scramble for signings, particularly as it means he has to deal with speculation over some of his players.
Speculation
He added: "You hang around listening to rubbish about this player and that player leaving. I mean, we are hardly likely to weaken our squad by selling some of our best players, are we? "If it's not Luka Modric going, it's Gareth Bale or someone else. "We are not in the market to sell players and speculation is unhelpful and disruptive. "And then you are linked to 100 players you have never heard of, let alone have any intention of buying."
