Transfer news: Etienne Capoue turns down West Brom as talks continue to leave Tottenham

Midfielder Etienne Capoue remains in talks with a number of clubs to leave Tottenham on loan before the January transfer deadline but he has turned down West Brom, according to Sky sources.
Sky Sports News HQ understands the Baggies and Spurs agreed a temporary deal for the Frenchman but Capoue was not interested, while a deal to join Leicester on loan has also fallen through.
The 26-year-old, part of Spurs’ £110million recruitment drive in the summer of 2013, has struggled to establish himself in Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team this season and has made just 19 league starts for the club since his £9m arrival from Toulouse.
He played regularly for Andre Villas-Boas early last season but was in and out of the team under Tim Sherwood, and has hardly featured for Pochettino.
Capoue is one of a number of players Tottenham are attempting to offload on loan before the deadline, with captain Younes Kaboul, vice-captain Emmanuel Adebayor, longest-serving player Aaron Lennon and defender Vlad Chiriches all available to other clubs.
Kaboul, Adebayor and Lennon are all currently deciding over a number of offers from clubs from the Premier League and abroad.
Spurs, meanwhile, are close to bringing in MK Dons' promising young midfielder Dele Alli - a deal which would see him loaned back to the League One club for the rest of the season.
