Tottenham are interested in signing young Monaco striker Anthony Martial, Sky sources understand.
The 19-year-old France U21 international is one of Spurs' targets in their hunt for a new striker but no contact has yet been made about a possible deal, despite reports in France suggesting talks are already under way.
Martial is highly regarded both at the Ligue 1 club, where he made 44 appearances last season and scored 10 goals, and among the French international set-up, where he has played games and scored goals at every level from U16 to U21.
He joined Monaco on a three-year deal from Lyon in 2013 for a fee of €5m making 55 appearances and scoring 12 goals since in total.
Spurs could move for Martial after missing out on the out-of-contract Burnley forward Danny Ings, who has chosen to sign for Liverpool on a Bosman free transfer.
Spurs launched a £12m bid for Ings earlier this month, before his contract expired, in an effort to show the player their strong desire to sign him.
But the England striker was keen on a move to Anfield and will complete that move subject to a medical.
