SOUNESS UNHAPPY WITH McATEER ATTITUDE

GRAEME SOUNESS has criticised Jason McAteer for asking to be left out of the Blackburn Rovers side.

The former Liverpool midfielder has been linked with a move away from Ewood Park after being told he was not part of the manager's plans.

McAteer was revealed to be a target for two mystery Spanish clubs in the week and asked to be left out of the squad for the Worthington Cup game against Oldham Athletic as he felt a move was imminent.

Souness was not happy with the Irish midfielder's attitude and did not include him in his squad for Saturday's game against Ipswich Town.

"I can't understand it," Souness said. "If I were a player, I'd want to be playing football. But we are all different."
