Samba sale could force players to question their futures

Sky Sports understands Blackburn risk losing a number of stars if they decide to sell Chris Samba before the close of the transfer window. Samba has reiterated his desire to leave Ewood Park before Tuesday's transfer deadline claiming the club have failed to keep promises made to him. However, Rovers could face a fight to keep other senior stars if they allow Samba to leave having made promises to them on keeping their best players. Summer signing Scott Dann could find himself unsettled after he was given assurances when he signed from Birmingham City in a £6million deal that he was being brought in to play alongside Samba as Steve Kean looked to build his side around the central defensive partnership. Blackburn beat a host of clubs to land Dann, but selling Samba could send out the wrong signals to a number of Blackburn's stars of their ambition. A number of clubs are thought to be monitoring Dann's situation ready to make a move for the former England Under 21 international should they get an encouragement that he could be prised away from Ewood Park. Should Samba leave before Tuesday's deadline, Dann could be in line to replace the Congo man as Rovers captain with Kean seeing the 24-year-old as the right man to take the armband.
