Remi Garde focused on Aston Villa despite link over Lyon return

Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has refused to be drawn on speculation linking him with a return to former club Lyon.
Garde was only appointed as Villa manager in November, with the Frenchman signing a contract until the summer of 2019 following the dismissal of Tim Sherwood at Villa Park.
However, the 49-year-old has won just two Premier League matches since his arrival and Villa currently sit bottom of the table, nine points from safety with only eight matches of their season remaining.
Garde, who spent three seasons with Lyon before leaving in 2014, has been offered a route back to his homeland with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas recently admitting he would welcome him back to the club as manager.
But when asked about a potential return to Lyon, Garde said: "I said it's not the time for me to speak about the speculation of individuals, mine in particular.
"It would be very disrespectful for the club, for the fans and those who love this football club and are suffering in this time. Speculation doesn't interest me at the moment."
Villa face relegation rivals Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday Night Football and will be looking to bring a run of five successive league defeats to an end.
