Aston Villa were victorious in the Cup of Traditions on Sunday, beating Hertha Berlin and Duisburg in Germany.

In their first of two 45-minute games, Villa saw off German second tier side Duisburg 3-0, thanks to Andre Green's goal and a double from former Brentford striker Scott Hogan.

Hertha, having beaten Malaga in their first game, met Villa in the final, but Steve Bruce's side saw off the Bundesliga outfit comfortably.

Chris Samba, who signed a contract with the Sky Bet Championship side in midweek, headed Villa ahead against his former club, before Gabriel Agbonlahor rounded the Berlin goalkeeper to net a second.
