Aston Villa have announced that Alan Hutton has signed a new one-year contract with the club.
The defender made 33 appearances in all competitions last season for Villa as they reached the Championship play-off final.
Hutton said: "The fans make me feel so special. They're a huge part of the reason I wanted to stay."
Earlier on Thursday, Hutton was included in Villa's release list submitted to the EFL - which also included John Terry and Gabby Agbonlahor, who have left the club.
But Hutton replied "not true" to a fan on Instagram who thanked him for his time at Villa.
Since joining the club from Tottenham in 2011, Hutton has made nearly 170 appearances for Villa.
