Harry Redknapp has denied reports he is being lined up by Newcastle to take over from Steve McClaren.

McClaren is under pressure with Newcastle managing just two wins in 14 Premier League games this season.

In their last two matches they were beaten 3-0 at home by Leicester City and then thrashed 5-1 by Crystal Palace.

Newcastle are second from bottom in the Premier League table, and they face in-form Liverpool on Sunday - live on Sky Sports 1 - and then high-flying Tottenham away.

Redknapp, who has been out of the game since he resigned as QPR boss in February this year, insists he has heard nothing from Newcastle and backs McClaren to turn things around at St James' Park.
