Former Newcastle goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek's funeral was held on Monday afternoon in his home town of Ostrava and several of his former team-mates were in attendance.
Srnicek, a hugely popular figure throughout the world of football, died last Tuesday at the age of 47, nine days after suffering a cardiac arrest while he was out jogging.
And hundreds of mourners turned out on Monday to attend Srnicek's funeral, ahead of a private ceremony and burial to be held on Tuesday.
Former Newcastle players Steve Howey and Steve Harper were among the attendees at the funeral, having also been taken on a tour of the goalkeeper's home town.
Former West Ham goalkeeper Ludek Miklosko was also at Monday's public ceremony, as was Czech Republic footballing great Pavel Nedved.
Srnicek was a regular for the Czech national side himself, finishing his career with 49 caps. He spent two spells at Newcastle and also represented Sheffield Wednesday, Portsmouth and West Ham during his time in England.
He was working as a coach at AC Sparta Prague when he sadly passed away.
