Newcastle United manager Glenn Roeder has reiterated his desire to keep midfielder James Milner at the club.The 20-year-old has been constantly linked with a move away from St James' Park during the summer, with a number of Premiership sides credited with an interest.
Middlesbrough are the latest team to be linked with signing Milner but Roeder has ruled out a departure for the former Leeds winger.
Despite the arrival of Damien Duff in the North East, the former West Ham boss has insisted Milner will play an important role in the coming season.
The England Under-21 international has impressed since returning from his season-long loan at Aston Villa and Roeder is expecting Milner to continue his form into the new season.
"James Milner is not going anywhere. He is staying with us and that's the end of the story," Roeder told the club's official website.
"James has done well for us in pre-season and we do not want to lose players like him.
"There has been interest in him from other Premiership clubs but he will be playing a big part for Newcastle United this season."
