Pep Guardiola has taken his first training session since taking over from Manuel Pellegrini as Manchester City head coach.

A number of senior players not involved in Euro 2016 or this summer's Copa America - including Samir Nasri, Fabian Delph, Wilfried Bony, Yaya Toure and Fernandinho - returned to the City Football Academy for the start of pre-season training this week.

Tuesday's session was overseen by former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss Guardiola, who was joined by his coaching team.

That includes former Arsenal and Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta, who retired at the end of last season.
