Manchester City have signed Pablo Mari from Spanish club Gimnastic Tarragona, with the defender set to go straight out on loan.
Mari will go to Gimnastic's fellow Spanish second-tier side Girona for the rest of the season, according to the Press Association.
The 22-year-old had been with Gimnastic since 2013, making 90 appearances.
A statement on the club's website said: "We thank Pablo Mari for his commitment, discipline and hard work that he has contributed during these three years in the ranks of the first team.
"Gimnastic de Tarragona wishes Mari good luck on a personal and professional level in his new team, Manchester City FC."
Mari signed for Gimnastic from Mallorca and helped them reach the segunda - the second division - in 2015.
Mari becomes City's 10th summer signing during Pep Guardiola's first transfer window at the Etihad Stadium.
