Manchester City have launched an eye-catching new orange and purple third kit.

Leroy Sane and John Stones modelled the bold Nike strip, which will be worn away from home in cup competitions.

"The launch marks an exciting new era," a statement read. "Manchester City will wear a bold new kit blending two unexpected colours to create a distinctive look that reflects the vibrancy and creativity at the heart of both club and city."

"'CITY' is knitted into the back of the collar whilst 'EST. 1894' adorns the insides of the cuffs, marking the year of the club's foundation.

"To complete a truly distinct head-to-toe look, the same colours extend to the socks - blocks of violet are complemented by linear orange graphics on the calf."

City get their Sky Bet EFL Cup campaign under way against Swansea on Wednesday night hoping to continue their 100 per cent record in all competitions under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola.

Kit model Sane said he is relishing life in the Premier League with Guardiola.

"The team is excited to play under the manager and works to execute everything he tells us," he said. "The competition in training is at the right level and we have fun as well. Everyone is enjoying it.

"The style of play (in the Premier League) is very different. It's more direct and I like that. It's an unpredictable and exciting league."
