Pep Guardiola tried to hype up the Man City crowd before the second half started against Burnley – but received a muted response.

Pep Guardiola tried to rouse Manchester City fans as he walked back to the dugout against Burnley, but the response wasn't what he wanted...

City moved back into the top four of the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Burnley despite having Fernandinho sent off in the first half on Monday.

The decision to send off the Brazil international particularly irked Guardiola, who looked angry as he emerged from the tunnel for the second half.

Pointing to his ear and gesturing to City fans to raise the volume at the Etihad seemed to fall on deaf ears, as the response from the stands was muted to say the least, which seemed to anger Guardiola yet further as he took his seat on the City bench.

And his side's victory did little to improve his mood after the match, as he gave this prickly post-match interview to Sky Sports' Rob Palmer.
