Pep Guardiola hailed both Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne for their performances in the 5-1 win over Leicester

Pep Guardiola was full of praise for Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero after they starred in Manchester City's 5-1 win over Leicester on Saturday.

Aguero scored four times in the victory while De Bruyne provided three assists.

Asked about De Bruyne's display, City boss Guardiola told Sky Sports: "He has everything. Every game he has assists, passes, shots and goals…how he runs, fights, he can play on the wing, attacking midfield, holding midfield. This season his performances; there are no words, so special."

Aguero's four-goal haul sees him move level with Mohamed Salah on 21 Premier League goals for the season, two behind leading scorer Harry Kane.

Guardiola said the striker is "an authentic legend of this club".

"He has a special talent in the box, he is clinical, and scored the second one there, but the third one and fourth one are amazing. We need his goals, that's why it's so good."

"I am so satisfied," said Guardiola. "Another victory, and 72 points in February is something special."

But he added: "It's 16 points but United have a game in hand. I don't think about the calendar or how many games, just focus on the future, not what we have behind, it's next one, the Champions League starts, and we will see.

"We want to play with that spirit. At Burnley [last weekend] we were not able to win but in certain periods we played much better than today and that's why we remain happy and calm for the future."
