Man City youngster joins Championship outfit

Derby County have confirmed the signing of Manchester City's hot prospect Javan Vidal on loan until the end of the season. The 20-year-old England youth international had been linked with a move to Pride Park over the weekend and the Championship outfit have landed the highly-rated defender to the delight of manager Nigel Clough. "Javan is a very talented young player and we are grateful to Manchester City for allowing him to come here until the end of the season," the Derby boss told the club's official website. "He has all the attributes to be a top professional and is comfortable playing at right-back or right midfield. "It gives us quality cover in a couple of positions and we believe he will fit right in with the mentality and culture we are looking to introduce to our squad." The versatile Vidal is expected to go straight into the Derby squad for Saturday's clash against Sheffield United.
