Roma have confirmed they are in talks with Manchester City over a loan deal for David Pizarro.

Roma have confirmed they are in talks with Manchester City over a loan deal for David Pizarro. Sky Sports revealed earlier on Tuesday that City were in talks with Roma over the 32-year-old Chilean. The midfielder has been linked with a number of rival Italian clubs, as well as Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg, but he now looks set for a loan move to City. Roma general director Franco Baldini confirmed: "For our transfer market, I would say that there will be no surprises, we're just trying to close with City for (David) Pizarro. "We are looking at a loan, we hope to reach an agreement by tonight." Baldini also confirmed that the club had finalised the capture of Brazilian midfielder Marquinho from Fluminese on an initial six-month loan.
