City boss not feeling any pressure despite United drawing level

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini insists there is no reason for his side to be losing sleep as the title race evens up once again. City had led the Premier League since October but defeat by Everton on Tuesday night paved the way for neighbours Manchester United to draw level on points. A second-half goal from former United midfielder Darron Gibson allowed the reigning champions to even the points tally, meaning they only trail on goal difference. However, despite the deficit being eradicated following the midweek fixtures, City's Italian boss is adamant there are going to be no sleepless nights at the Etihad Stadium as his side understand there is a long way to go.

Pressure

"We don't have any reason to have pressure," he said. "We never thought that we could win the title in January or February. "The Premier League you can win at the end of April, not now. It is impossible to stay on the top for five months and not have any problems. "It will not be easy to stay there, especially when you fight against United. United have been used to staying on top for the last 20 years." Mancini admitted that the defeat in the week was disappointing but the players should not be put under undue pressure and should be praised for their efforts so far.
Focus
"I always want to do well and sometimes this doesn't happen," he added. "Against Everton I probably didn't do my job very well. The players shouldn't have pressure because they have done very well up until now. "We have scored 60 goals and have the best defence in the Premier League. "For us it is important to go on our own way and not think about other teams. This championship depends on us, not on others."
